India holds the honor of one of the largest democracies of the world when the government is created “by the people, for the people and off the people”. Election 2009 saw a coverage electorate of size 714 million but still elections were held fairly and results of election were declared on time. It was in 1977 that the results election was not in favor of congress for the first time since India’s independence and Morarji Desai of Janta Party took over as the Prime Minister of India.
Elections result 2009 was again in the favor of Congress led UPA which at present have formed government in India. Therefore it is election results that seal the fate of any party in Indian democracy. |
