It is the responsibility of every responsible citizen of this country to cast election vote on the day of election polling so as to contribute towards the formation of corruption free government that can actually help in the development of the nation. So here is some important information which every Indian voter should know about election polling and election votes.
In order to cast election vote for lok sabha or even to cast election votes during state assembly election polling you should register yourself in the election vote list known as electoral rolls. The minimum age of the person to cast election vote is 18 years. It was Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi that was able to bring down the election votes age from 21 years to 18 years in 1989. In election polling only an Indian citizen can cast election votes as mentioned clearly in section 16 of RP Act 1951. You can only enroll in election votes electoral roll at the place of your residence and you can exercise election votes during election polling at only one place. If you want to use your power of election vote then you need to fill in a form 6 and submit it to assembly constituency.
In order to avoid any frauds during election polling all the persons enrolled in electoral roll are provided with photo identity card that has to be displayed at the place where you go to cast election votes. So participate in election polling and do cast your election vote to uphold the ideals of democracy.
